Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart arbeitete an der Messe KV 427 (417a) in den Jahren 1782/83. Die fertigen Sätze der Messe erklangen am 26. Oktober 1783 in der Kirche des Stiftes St. Peter zu Salzburg - das gesamte Werk jedoch blieb unvollendet.
