Pierre Boulez wrote his Sonatina for flute and piano in January and February 1946 and revised it in detail in April 1949. The revised version was published by Amphion in 1954 (DA 163). Due to the errata in the first edition, a corrected new edition has been desirable for some time. Pierre Boulez seized the opportunity at this point to make additional modifications and amendments arising out of practical experience. Besides markings for dynamics and articulation, the changes consist mainly in details of agogic accentuation and tempo. All corrections have been personally approved by Pierre Boulez.
