20th Century (1993). Finally the bass trombonist has an "Arthur Pryor-style" showpiece. This clever theme and variations weaves several traditional sea songs into a virtuosic and extremely demanding solo. Although the range covers more than four octaves, there are opportunities for octave displacement, in order to make the piece playable by players of varying abilities.
This "tour-de-force" solo is also available with wind band accompaniment or with trombone choir accompaniment.
