G. Henle Publishers: Seventy-Five Years
Beschrijving
In the world of music, G. Henle Publishers stands for music edited and presented to the highest standards. The idea for this concept stemmed from Günter Henle, who was a diplomat, industrialist and politician, as well as a fantastic pianist. In 1948 he founded his publishing house in Munich and Duisburg, which today offers some 1500 editions from the Baroque era up to classical modernism. To mark the 75th anniversary of G. Henle Verlag, the history of the publishing house appears in print, published by Carl Hanser Verlag Munich. The book tells of the improvised beginnings, of the development of the programme and its international success, but also of great artists, such as Yehudi Menuhin and Rudolf Serkin, who were closely connected to the firm and its founder. Henle could not have imagined that one day even digital music for the tablet would be available under his name: but he would have been pleased with how his ideas remain alive today.
