Ankunfts und Abschiedsparthia
Beschrijving
This partia for wind instruments was copied by the clarinettist Raymund Griessbacher (1752 -1818, playing in the Esterhazy Orchestra under Joseph Haydn 1776-1778) and is kept in the Library of Schwerin. With 9 movements it is a very extensive Bläserparthia. The initial movement begins with the 1st clarinet alone, the further instruments follow one after another.Similar composition is know by Johannes Sperger (1750 -- 1812), who composed an arrival symphony at 1785. In the last movement of Hoffmeister's Parthia, a Retirade, all instruments finish one after another until the 1st clarinet remains alone. It is obvious, that Haydn's farewell symphony Hob I45 was the model. An identical gavotte movement is in a wind octet (raised II : Es13) for 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 horns and 2 bassoons, which was falsely assigned to Haydn.
Due to the way of composition, the probably composition place Vienna and the suspected time, one can accept Franz Anton Hoffmeister as composers. Further copies with movements from the "Arrival-and Farwell- Parthia" shall be in Prague and in Brno naming Hoffmeister as the composer.
