Aufschwung Con Tenuto (Score & parts)
Beschrijving
York Höller's contribution to the classical genre of trios for clarinet, viola and piano, which is also significant for New Music, was premiered by members of the Ensemble Modern as part of 'Fokus Perspektive Schumann' at the Frankfurt Alte Oper in 2014. In his lively composition with its fanfare motifs and semitone trills Höller savours a specific air of Robert Schumann. With his Fairy Tales Op. 132, the Rhenish master himself created a milestone for this very same instrumentation, and Höller refers to Schumann's 'Aufschwung' from his Fantasiestücke Op. 12 not only in the title of his piece but also by a quote in a central position. Passionate 11 minutes of chamber music, immediately appealing to the listeners and rewarding for all three players
