To come up with music for a story about friendship, love, loss and pain is a dream job for a composer. The strong story by Frank Van Laecke and Allard Blom about unconditional friendship at the time of the Great War leaves no soul untouched.

I want the music for ‘14-18 ‘to scan all the boundaries of human feelings and to touch every place of the soul. From profound sadness to lavish euphoria, from suppressed anger to intense helplessness.

I hope that this beautiful arrangement for symphonic wind band by Pieter Nieva will contribute to greater tolerance, a harmonious society and an enhanced worldpeace.
