Description
The Oxen is an effective, accessible and beautifully evocative carol for unaccompanied SATB choir set to words by Thomas Hardy. The setting is generally homophonic, with few technical difficulties, offering a new and accessible carol set to these beloved words. There are a few voice divisions which will offer few challenges to the experienced choir.
The Oxen has been performed at the St Martin-in-the-Fields Festival of Lessons and Carols on several occasions.
