Reverie
Description
At once recognisable, this delightful piece is set for six ordinary guitars, three of which are tuned down to D. Guitar I, despite being way up the neck, has 6=C purely for three notes to bolster the ensemble. (.) This is not a demanding arrangement, which is all to the good, as the relaxed feel required of this piece would be lost in digital gymnastics. Grade five guitarists would feel at home with all except perhaps the top line. The lack of fingering is not a problem, and the wealth of musical indication is gratifying. (.) As a quiet moment in a recital from a guitar sextet, this would be a breath-taking choice.
