Description
Written during Holst's time working at the St. Paul's Girls School, this influential piece originally written for string orchestra has been beautifully transcribed for clarinet choir. Matt Johnston keeps much of the same colors and effects from the original, taking advantage of the homogeneity of the clarinet choir, from top to bottom. Consists of four movements: Jig, Ostinato, Intermezzo, Finale (The Dargason) Instrumentation: E-Flat Clarinet, 4 B-Flat Clarinets, Alto Clarinet/Basset Horn, Bass Clarinet, Contrabass Clarinet/Contralto/String Bass
