This updated arrangement preserves Owen's original, which masterfully weaves the timeless classic through a waltz, a rhumba, a tango, a lento, an allegro, a galop, and finally a presto, while adding performance flexibility. It may be accompanied by marimba band, full percussion ensemble, or piano only. Options are also given to take, or not, the written cadenza. Thank you Ralph Hicks, for giving this popular piece new—and flexible—life for another generation of percussionists to enjoy and share with their audiences!

Chopsticks comes as a full, bound score and includes a CD-ROM containing individual parts for all three accompaniment options and a recording.

Chopsticks may be played in a variety of configurations. The full version requires 9 players with the followin instrumentation: xylophone, 2 low-A marimbas (shared), 2 low-F marimbas (shared), tambourine, castanets, woodblock, triangle, maracas, snare drum, crash cymbals, hi-hat, bass drum and 4 timpani.
