Lock it
Description
After "Points d'orientation" (for xylophone, percussion and piano, end of cycle I), "Lock-it" (Concerto for vibraphone, marimba, timpani and drums) offers an overview of the requested instrumental and musical bases at end of cycle II. The drum is used as in a jazz band with accompanying patterns but also with a great solo. The melodic timpani solicit the interpreter on the accuracy in pedaling. The vibraphone introduction has a very simple melody that requires a lot of phrasing and mastery with the pedal. Finally, the marimba will appeal to the independence of the 4 sticks in a ragtime that will speed up to finish in 2 variations chopsticks. In summary, "Lock it" lets drummers express their dexterity, musicality but especially their "Groove"
