Anthology - Albéniz, Granados
Description
Yasuo Abe, who edited these works originally for Piano for Guitar, says about Isaac Albéniz and Enrique Granados, that their works are ‘perfectly representative of the qualities of simplicity and rich emotionality […] of the Spanish spirit'. As well their works ‘resound with the drama and romanticism characteristic of Spain'. Therefore he chose works of these two Spanish composers to expand the Guitarist's repertoire. Abe mainly chose works ‘suitable for public performances'. This book contains 18 of the best known works of Isaac Albéniz and Enrique Granados, best known and loved for their nationalist Spanish music. Many transcriptions of these works are standards in today's guitar literature, e.g. Asturias, Malaguena oder Sevilla from Albeniz and Andaluza, La Maja de Goya oder Valses Poéticos from Granados.
