This study score edition contains both the complete score and the concert presentation of "The Miraculous Mandarin", a pantomime by Bartók composed from 1918 to 1924.

The pantomime reflects for the first time what Bartók had learnt from folk music, refined into a personal expression, an individual phraseology.
