Description
In comparison with the other anthems composed in Cannons, the fourth (or first) of a total of eleven Cannons Anthems, with the text O sing unto the Lord, HWV 249b, is scored for a smaller ensemble. The present practical edition presents an arrangement for women’s choir with soprano and alto soli in order to make Handel’s composition accessible for choral music for an ensemble type which is otherwise scarcely represented.
