reBoot

Description

#reBoot is a virtuoso concert piece for marimba. The structure is a kind of marriage between a repetitive

musical ostinato on the one hand and motifs taken from Romanticism on the other. There are 2 large

repetitive sections. Each has a clear technical and musical build-up, occasionally flirting with a poppy vibe.

#reBoot also has an introduction and a virtuoso coda which, together with the 2 large middle parts, provide

an overall musical and technical structure which references the great examples of the Romantic era. The 3-

layer composition structure (bass, accompaniment and melody) also clearly refers to that same Romantic

tradition for keyboard. Its accessible musical idiom and its virtuosic flair make #reBoot suitable for an

audience of enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike. At the same time, it’s a brilliant concert piece to show off

with!
