Description

2 board games for playful training of basic musical terms and the notes f to c ''

The "clef game" is laid out like a classic board game. The players have to solve various musical tasks on the playing fields in order to reach the goal as quickly as possible. Whoever reaches the goal first wins the game.

Made primarily for piano, the clef playing can also be played by all other music students: why shouldn't guitarists be able to read the bass clef?

The clef game offers two game variants. Game 1 on the front is suitable for training basic musical terms and the root tones:

notes c 'to h' (treble clef),

Name of:

  • Note values eighth, quarter, half, whole
  • dynamic signs 'p' and 'f'
  • sharps and flats
  • Bass clef and treble clef
  • Quarter break and half break

With game 2 on the back, the extended tone range f to c '' becomes the object of the game: Notes f to c '' (f to c 'in bass clef, c' to c '' in treble clef)

    Name of:

  • dynamic signs p and f
  • Quarter break and half break

For both games, game variants are given, which provide variety when playing repeatedly.

    Instructions (excerpt)

    1. All players place their figure cones on the "Start" field. Now each player rolls the eye cube. The player with the highest number of eyes may start the game.

    2. The beginning player rolls the die and continues his figure cone the number of dice rolled. Depending on the number of eyes, he comes to different musical tasks.

    3. The following tasks are to be solved in the fields:

    - Score field: If a player lands on a score field, it must

  • a.) play the correct tone on the piano and / or
  • b.) the name of the note

The teacher determines how many of the two tasks need to be solved.

    - Break field: If a player lands on a break field, the break name must be stated.

    - Smiley field: If a player lands on a smiley field, no question has to be answered. The smiley field can also be used as a jumping field: a figure that lands on a smiley, may jump to the next smiley.

    - Dynamic field: If a player lands on a dynamic field, the name must be mentioned.

If the task is solved correctly / the question is answered correctly, the player can stop on the field. If he has not solved the task / has not answered the question or answered it incorrectly, he must go back to the field in which he was standing before the throw.

    4. Now it is the next player's turn. It is played clockwise.

    5. The winner is the player who reaches the "target" field first.

Game variants with which the game can be made more exciting:

  • a.) If a pawn arrives on a field that is already occupied by an opposing pawn, the opposing figure is considered defeated and must go back five spaces.
  • b.) The character must reach the target field with a precisely fitting throw( if there's a figure three fields in front of the target field, a "three" must be rolled to get to the target field).

Suitable for up to 4 people. Playing time: approx. 15 - 30 minutes

You can have a clef play with different notes and / or other music theory content.
