Song of Hope (Soprano)
Description
Song of Hope is all about the universal thoughts of hope and solidarity. Kevin Houben took inspiration from the poem ´Hope´ of the American poet Emily Dickinson (1830-1886).
"Hope" is the thing with feathers - That perches in the soul - And sings the tune without the words - And never stops - at all -
And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard - And sore must be the storm - That could abash the little Bird That kept so many warm -
I've heard it in the chillest land - And on the strangest Sea - Yet - never - in Extremity, It asked a crumb - of me.
The composer gives a clear message: as bad as the world apparently looks, there is always the power of hope.
After the moving part, it is time for a celebration with a lively finale. All themes and motifs eventually culminate in a festive apotheosis.
