Amazing Grace (Score & parts)
Description
This great arrangement of the famous melody is designed to be played by young students after only a few months of instruction. The pentatonic nature of the melody avoids any issues with high or low second fingers and allows for a modulation from G major to D major. The work opens with the traditional theme over a bagpipe-like drone, followed by a series of variations that successively gain intensity, with all instruments getting a change to play the melody. A running eighth note cello line drives the piece to an exciting conclusion.
