Divided into nine movements, each of which portrays a concept related to the birth of Jesus:
Volume 1 La vierge et l'enfant (The Virgin and Child) Les bergers (The Shepherds) Desseins éternels (Eternal designs) Volume 2 Le verbe (The Word) Les enfants de Dieu (The Children of God) Volume 3 Les anges (The Angels) Jésus accepte la souffrance (Jesus accepts suffering) Les mages (The Magi) Volume 4 Dieu parmi nous (God Among Us)Volume 1, published in 1935 with the three following volumes, comprises the first three meditations, The Virgin and the Child, The Shepherds and Eternal Purposes. La Nativité Du Seigneur is essential to all advanced organists seeking to expand and vary their repertoire.
