Un Dia de Noviembre (Medium Concert Percussion)
Description
Originally written for solo guitar, Un Dia de Noviembre is a marimba transcription of a very popular piece by Cuban composer Leo Brouwer. It is performed with four mallets on a 4.5 (low E) octave marimba. This piece has a lyrical and simplistic beauty that will require a sense of maturity in musical phrasing from the performer. The accompaniment alternates between the right and left hands throughout and occasionally requires one-handed rolls from each hand at different points. By way of natural chord voicings and intuitive playing patterns, Jason Baker has done a masterful job of capturing the heart of the original work through the marimba's expressive range.
Requires a 4 1/2 octave marimba (low E)
