In this musical drama, composed in honour of the 150th anniversary of the death of Jacob Grimm in 2013, song and spoken word continually alternate with one another. The orchestra also plays an important role, giving the entire work great variety in terms of content but also in terms of sound. Es war einmal… (Once Upon a Time) can be performed in concert and also creates an opportunity for a partially staged production.
