‘Biberussa', de oude naam voor de Belgische gemeente Beverst, is een samenvoeging van de woorden ‘biber' en ‘ussa', die bever en rivier betekenen. Deze concertmars is dan ook gecomponeerd naar aanleiding van het honderdjarig bestaan van de Koninklijke Harmonie ‘Ons Verlangen' uit Beverst, tevens het orkest waar de componist zijn eerste muzikale stappen zette. Na de openingspassage weerklinkt een fier en heroïsch thema. Als contrast volgt daarop een eenvoudige koraalmelodie. Deze beide thema's klinken daarna gelijktijdig in een grootse tuttipassage, gevolgd door een zangerig trio en een majestueuze herneming van het hoofdthema.
